The iconic mountains, forests, and waterways of the Adirondack Mountains shape a lifestyle centered around the outdoors. I grew up enjoying what makes this area special, which ultimately led me to a career where I can help others find their own piece of this paradise.

Born in New Jersey, my family moved to Saranac Lake when I was young, and I have called the region home ever since. Although not a native, I understand the connection that so many feel about the area. As a fourth-generation camper, I share a long family tradition of fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, and enjoying everything these outdoors have to offer. Around here, a day spent indoors is a day wasted, no matter the weather!

After graduating from Saranac Lake Central High School, I studied forestry at Paul Smith’s College, furthering my knowledge of the region and its resources. Located on Lower St. Regis Lake, Paul Smith’s features a fantasy setting which helped make learning a joy.

I worked in a local sawmill after college, long enough that my hands-on experience could not be questioned. Soon after, my daughter was born. I took a job as the property manager of Eagle Island Camp on Upper Saranac Lake, then owned by the Girl Scouts. As I became acquainted with that lake, I fell in love with its rich heritage. The island sold at the end of my seventh year, and I was ready for my next career.

In 2016 I earned my real estate license and have loved it ever since! The industry combines my knowledge of the land with my love of the Adirondacks and the lifestyle we know and love. Over the last ten years I have been so blessed to view so many wonderful properties and meet numerous people I now call friends and neighbors. There is nearly nothing as gratifying as seeing the right buyers end up with a property, whether it be a modest home in the village, or a large estate on the lake.

Not every sale involves a romantic story. In one of the transactions, of which I am most proud, I helped my sons' little league coach purchase a small lot next to his house in the Village of Saranac Lake for only a few thousand dollars. Although not the most financially rewarding, I was happy to be able help an old friend secure a property that was important to him.

My wife Cynthia and I are now 19 years into raising the next generation of Adirondacker's – Lily, Sandy and Joey. We’ve raised them with the same appreciation for the outdoors that shaped my own upbringing. For most of their lives, we did not have a television in the house. Instead, if the kids were bored, the answer was simple: go outside!

Additionally, faith is an integral part of my life. I love my church community and consider my responsibility to them my highest calling. I truly enjoy serving people, whether lending a friend a helping hand, helping my clients, or volunteering with the local fire department.

The Adirondacks is not just where I work, it is my home. Being able to help people discover this place and build their own connection to it is something I am grateful for every day.

One of my favorite parts of my job is working with unique real estate such as waterfront estates, historic multi-building camps, large tracts of forest, and even islands. I see myself as the modern-day version of the classic Adirondack guide from the 1800s, helping people view different properties that may be only accessible by boat, snowmobile, or ATV. It is a good day when I can provide buyers with not only a well presented showing, but also an adventure they will not forget.

Throughout any transaction, my number one goal is creating a smooth experience for my clients. That means being highly communicative, easy to reach, quick with information and answers, and coordinating all the behind-the-scenes details. I often say, “A great agent is not just good at solving problems – they help you avoid them!”

Sincerely,
